Academy Assessment Now Open
Thank you for completing your data entry into NAF's new and improved Data Center! We had 100% participation in the data collection this year. The next step in NAF's continuous improvement process, the Academy Assessment, formerly “Self-Assessment” is now available. Please fill out the assessment by January 13, 2012. Contact your network liaison if you have any questions regarding assessment completion.


NAF Celebrates 30 Years
NAF’s 30th anniversary is right around the corner! We look forward to many celebrations in 2012. To kick it off, we have created a 30th anniversary logo to accompany your academy logo. Download it and instructions on how to use it here and contact us for help or with ideas of how we can celebrate 30 years of college and career success.







NAF Featured in Black Enterprise
The National Academy Foundation and the Academy of Insurance and Finance at High School Inc., in Hartford, Connecticut, are featured in the December issue of Black Enterprise as a model for successful high school reform with proven results. Read the full article here.





Global Industry Validation
NAF’s Academy of Hospitality & Tourism curriculum has received industry validation from the Global Travel & Tourism Partnership (GTTP). GTTP’s recognition of the NAF AOHT curriculum is part of the ongoing efforts to ensure the curriculum meets the highest professional standards and adds value to the credentials earned by NAF students. Oklahoma City School District Launches Wide-Scale Business Partner Recruitment
In preparation for opening five more NAF academies in the fall, Oklahoma City School District held a recruitment event with NAF’s President, JD Hoye on-site to support the effort. Read more here.



Student-Run Travel Agency Receives Attention
Academy of Hospitality & Tourism students at East High School in Rochester, New York, were featured in the latest issue of Travel Agent magazine. The school runs an all-inclusive online travel agency with 52 students booking travel, transportation and vacation needs for customers in the community. Check out the article here.

Improving High School Graduation Rates and the Economy
The Alliance for Excellent Education called upon NAF's expertise for its webinar on the economic impact of improving high school graduation rates. Watch a recording of the webinar.


Financial Capability Challenge
Every year Academy of Finance students take part in the Financial Capability Challenge. The Challenge, which is conducted by the Department of the Treasury in partnership with the Department of Education, offers high school students all over the country the opportunity to test their financial smarts. Registration for the Challenge is now open, for more information on the program, click here.


STEM Video Game Design
Calling all video game designers, the National STEM Video Game Challenge is back! The challenge is a multi-year competition whose goal is to motivate interest in STEM learning among America’s youth by tapping into students’ natural passion for playing and making video games.
